Sue Bergin has been selected by the Green Party to contest the crucial Worlingham by-election

Sue is well known in Worlingham where she ran, until very recently Pinetrees Bed and Breakfast. Since retiring from the business Sue has devoted even more of her time to community projects in the Beccles and Worlingham area.

Sue is passionate about promoting cycling and walking and since 2007 has been secretary of the Beccles Cycle Strategy. She has worked closely with Green Councillor Graham Elliott to improve cycling facilities and this includes the new path to Worlingham Primary School from Orchard Rise, the new cycle lanes on Lowestoft Road, the reduced speed limit on Old Lowestoft Road and the creation of cycle routes to the Ellough Industrial Estate. Sue is also active in promoting cycling through the production of cycling maps, by leading cycle rides, by organising Dr.Bike events and working with the police to get bicycles security marked.

Sue is an active supporter of the Beccles Lido project and is involved in the bid to save the Public Hall. Both of these assets have importance for the communities of Worlingham, North Cove and Barnby. Sue is also a regular volunteer at Tourist Information Centre in Beccles and is a newly elected Town Councillor.
