We are East Suffolk’s largest party
Since 2023 we have formed the largest party on East Suffolk District Council with 16 councillors. We lead the administration in coalition with the Liberal Democrats and three Independent councillors.
After the General Election in July 2024, the Green Party has
Four Members of Parliament
Two members of the House of Lords (Natalie Bennett and Jenny Jones)
Three London Assembly Members (Zoë Garbett, Zack Polanski, and Caroline Russell)
What we stand for – a fairer, greener Suffolk
Originally known for our campaigns on climate change and the environment, we are equally concerned about social justice and rising inequality. In fact, all these are interconnected as climate change usually disproportionately affects most the poorest and least able to cope.
We need to ACT NOW: to reduce emissions, protect biodiversity and prevent further destruction of our natural environment, andbut we also support measures that include a wealth tax, taxing capital gains as income and abolishing the two-child benefits cap.
